Brecon Town Concert
Band is always on the look out for more musicians. Whilst we cannot offer any
formal training from scratch, any musician with a minimal of knowledge is
welcome to join. The Band does have woodwind and brass teachers in it and you
could arrange for tuition with them. There is no set age range for musicians and
in the past we have had 7 to 90 year olds.

Theatr Brycheiniog
Since 1996, the band has successfully
applied for Lottery funding. These applications have been backed by Brecon Town
Council and Powys County Council. These funds have been used to purchase a
complete new set of Band instruments suitable for both beginners and
professional musicians. All the instruments are available free of charge to all
Band members and are covered by the Band’s insurance. The Band also has £5
million pounds, public liability insurance. The Band’s instruments are allocated
at the discretion of the Band Musical Director who would like to see the
instruments, regularly at rehearsals and performances.

rehearsal room in the Theatr
Where
possible, all inexperienced musicians are assigned a mentor so that they
don’t feel that they are out on their own. They are also issued with a
“General information” pack about the Band. The Band’s polo shirts are also
free as is all folders and music.
If you
are interested in joining us or want to know more about the band, please
